Built for Florida Living. Designed to Last.
Island Harbor Custom Builders specializes in high-end custom homes designed for Florida’s coastal lifestyle. From waterfront estates to inland residences, we build homes that combine architectural design, structural integrity, and long-term durability.
Building a custom home is one of the most significant investments a homeowner can make. We work with homeowners throughout Vero Beach, Sebastian, Indian River County, and Brevard County to design and build homes that are not only visually striking but built to perform in Florida’s coastal environment.
Some clients come to us with architectural plans already prepared. Others begin with a vision and a piece of property where they want to build something exceptional. Either way, our role is to guide the project from initial planning through final construction—with clear communication, disciplined execution, and consistent quality at every stage

Custom Homes Designed for the Florida Lifestyle
Homes along Florida’s Treasure Coast are designed to take full advantage of natural light, open space, and outdoor living. Large windows, open floor plans, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions allow homeowners to enjoy the climate year-round.
Island Harbor Custom Builders works closely with architects, designers, and homeowners to create homes that balance style, function, and durability. Kitchens often serve as the central gathering space, connecting naturally to living areas and outdoor patios. These design decisions create homes that feel open, comfortable, and built around how people actually live. See examples of our work in the Gallery.
Beyond design, we build with Florida’s coastal conditions in mind. Moisture control, wind resistance, and material durability are critical considerations in every project. Our experience building in Vero Beach and Sebastian allows us to navigate local building codes, permitting requirements, and environmental challenges efficiently—helping projects stay on track while ensuring long-term performance.
Island Harbor Custom Builders did an extensive almost 5 year renovation on our beach front home 11,300 sqft. In addition, we have a new pool and cabana with a full kitchen, dining and lounge section. They also added a large detached garage with ample storage above with a music room for our adult children. It was a very big job. IHCB were hands on throughout and even if a problem arose (and that happens) they were always responsive and professional. If you call, and don’t get an answer, you will get an almost immediate response that they will call you. You’re never going to feel ignored. We know them pretty well as our project started March of 2020 ( a difficult time to begin) and we continue to get assistance from the team for different things. It wasn’t a relationship that we were happy to be done with, quite the opposite. You will be in very good hands.

Experienced Leadership You Can Trust
Island Harbor Custom Builders was founded by Brian Neu and Jesse Guthrie, two builders committed to craftsmanship, transparency, and straightforward communication.
What began as a small residential project has grown into a portfolio that includes multimillion-dollar custom homes throughout Indian River County and surrounding areas. Despite that growth, the company remains hands-on, with both owners actively involved in guiding projects and coordinating with homeowners, designers, and trade professionals.
Much of our work comes from referrals and repeat clients—a reflection of the trust homeowners place in our process and the quality of our work.
Our Process: From Concept to Completion
Building a custom home involves many moving parts. A clear, structured process helps ensure the finished home reflects the original vision.
Planning and Consultation
Every project begins with a conversation. We discuss the property, your goals, general budget considerations, and timeline. This initial phase establishes a clear direction for design and construction.
Design and Development
During the design phase, we collaborate with architects and designers to refine floor plans and determine structural requirements. We also offer 3D visualization tools to help you clearly understand how your home will look before construction begins.
Material selections and key design elements are addressed early so the project moves forward efficiently once building starts.
Construction and Project Management
Once plans and permits are finalized, construction begins. We coordinate trusted trade partners and manage every phase of the build—from structural framing and roofing to mechanical systems and interior work.
Consistent oversight and clear communication ensure quality, accountability, and progress throughout the project.
Interior Finishing
The finishing phase is where the home comes to life. Flooring, cabinetry, trim work, lighting, and architectural details are installed with precision to complete the design.
Attention to detail during this stage ensures the final result reflects the vision established from the very beginning.

Featured Project: Oceanfront Custom Home in Vero Beach
One example of our work is a 10,000-square-foot oceanfront home in Vero Beach valued at approximately $5 million.
This project required extensive structural planning, high-end material selection, and careful coordination between architects, engineers, and specialized trades. Interior spaces were designed to maximize ocean views while maintaining durability in a coastal environment where salt air and weather exposure are constant considerations.
By managing every phase of construction—from planning through final completion—we delivered a home that combines luxury design with long-term structural performance.
